This first lesson introduces the concept and rationale for apologetics and looks at the biblical support for the practice of apologetics. This Sunday School class taught by Stephen Curto deals with Apologetics from a presuppositional framework. But the audio recording did work for the whole lesson! More technical difficulties happened this week, as I used the wrong memory card in the camera and it only recorded video for an hour. We talked about the reality that there are no atheists and the importance of the gospel as the entire point of our apologetics. We discussed the universality of sin and the moral law written on the hearts of men, as seen in Romans 1:16-2:16. Lesson 2: The Universality of Sin and the Moral Law Video We then looked at the internal and external evidences that favor the Bible’s reliability.įor Information on Christ Community Church in Houston: We focused on the fact that the purpose of the Bible is two-fold: to tell the salvation story of creation, fall, redemption, resurrection, and to glorify the God putting the story into effect. What it is, what it isn’t, how to read it, and whether or not it is a reliable document. Lesson 3: The Reliability of the Bible Video This week we talked about the Philosophical or intellectual problem of evil, defending God’s omnipotence and omnibenevolence in the face of evil, commonly called “theodicy.” Lesson Given on Shane and Shane Lyric video of “Though You Slay Me” – Stephen Fry Interview segment on “If He Met God”- Where last week the focus was on the logical and philosophical problem of evil, this week we deal with the practical and emotional issues that accompany evil through suffering. This week we discussed the biblical foundations and teachings on dealing with suffering.
